The upgrade path from the base 7600 to Storedge isn't clear. For now, SolarEdge offers a $608 credit toward the purchase of a Storedge inverter when trading in a 7600A base model.

This is what I have been repeatedly told as well. I pointed out that it doesn't make much since. if they are just going to do full inverter trade ins then why not allow other inverters, particularly the SE6000 and just give a little less credit.
No good reply other than they hope to have the more direct upgrade path soon with DC disconnect box swaps.

generally speaking, why is efficiency better for SolarEdge Optimizers? (if correct). I don't know which specific model SolarEdge optimizer it is...

SolarEdge equipment has a higher efficiency than almost all other inverters.

I got quoted $1340 from Tandem Solar. Price on their webpage is slightly higher ($1347.50)

I was commenting on your statement about being able to add a switch to run the home on solar without the grid and how inaccurate that is.

You keep calling them edge optimizers. The company name is SolarEdge and they are just optimizers or SolarEdge optimizers.

Enphase micro inverters run about $130 to $150 each. but you also have an expensive cable that is required so add another $20 each

for comparison-- I understand P400 optimizers are about $71 each..., and then I would need t buy SE7600.. not much price difference, but optimizers are more efficient (no shading).. tks
