I'm in San Diego with an approximately 4kW system. Pretty simple roof mount on comp shingles. My contract is for $3.57/watt. Sunpower 345 watt panels, Solaredge power optimizers, Solaredge inverter.

I actually called Sunpower when i first started researching solar and they hooked me up with my installer. It's one of the bigger names in San Diego.

    Good luck!
Would you please PM me the installer contact infor? Thanks.

    Trust but verify.

My point was that CSI prices were not as subject to convenient memories, boasting or he said/she said unverifiable nonsense. Before the CSI funding ran out, I got to verify contract prices against CSI #'s for jobs in my HOA. In about 35 or so cases, all matched. To the penny. The one incorrect price I'm aware of was on a contract for a San Diego poster to this forum. That one was later corrected.

While I'd like to believe the current poster who's claiming $3.57/Watt for a Sunpower system, without employee "Friends and Family" discounts, systems for vendor's personal use or other outlier reasons, I'm curious as to why that price is about a buck a Watt or so less than the more common $ number - usually somewhere north of $4.50/Watt or maybe a bit less. If $3.57 before tax credits and rebates, etc. is possible, I'd be very pleased and I'd respectfully suggest the Admin. consider allowing disclosure of that vendor as a public service, as that $3.57/Watt price is about a buck a Watt less than the going rate for Sunpower, and will make their equipment much closer to being cost effective for more applications.

If you don't mind, can you confirm your $/W figure (pre rebates/credits) or PM me a copy of your invoice? If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it. You've been kind enough to an internet stranger.

    Thanks in advance either way!

i took that out of the calculation so others who don't need an upgrade can compare apples to apples. Good luck Supac.

PS. Re: the person who suggested waiting. i think that is a big mistake with net metering likely gone (at least as we know it)

If you like to go with SunPower, you should wait for 6-8 months. They are working on a new product made in China with almost double yields, much higher % efficiency and half price, and 40-50 years life span. Their price will drop soon ... But I mean equipment price, not labor price (it is up to your installer).
I was told by a friend working in a quite high position the company yesterday So I should talk with him before going to Solar to get family discount ....

I've received three Sunpower lease quotes .13c kwh (32 panels e20/327) -16c kwh (20 panels e20/327). Anyone getting lease quotes?

Probably true about ROI if you're moving away in 10 years or less. That said, even with my 5-year old (pre-owned) SunPower panels, they are generating a lot more power than I had expected - especially on cloudy days so their marketing about superior performance in less than ideal conditions isn't just BS.

Before my install, I did all of the PVwatts calculations for our 9kW project and thought I'd be generating about 90% of our household power needs. Turns out that we're easily net-zero, and probably above that. The bonus is that they look beautiful too. Attached is a photo of our solar "window wall" during the installation. I think it turned out incredible.

Thanks for sharing. This is a great price for the sunpower 345 panels. Do you know if this installer is an authorized sunpower installer? I am asking because Sunpower warranty require installation by their authorized installer(in writing). If you can pm me the contact name and number for this installer, I would like to get a quote from them. Your help is much appreciated.
