To be clear, was that before, or after tax credit, "friends & family discount" discount, for a dealer's own use, etc. ? Did you see the contract ?

Lower end LG panels (w/ ever popular SE optimizers and inverters) at about 60 cents less per watt. I'm leaning heavily towards the LG as I don't see a clear ROI on the SP.

Now I hope you are referring to the actual person who recommended said installer, as I am one of the folks here and let me assure you I or the forum do not recommend installers. I don't want to see people using this forum to make money through referral programs, I suspect that may already be happening
Yes, I meant a recommendation (which I solicited via pm) from a single member not this forum. A poor choice of words on my part.

    Just got another quote in:

    System 3:

    8.84 Kw
    Kyocera 260 panels
    Enphase M215 micro-inverters
    $ 3.88 w

Look like I'm still not getting close to your pricing mungosocal

FWIW: I believe your pricing. Congrads.

Using SAM for an output estimate, LG 300's are est. to have an equal or slightly greater annual output per installed Watt than S.P. 327's using TMY3 Miramar data and my orientation.

    System 1:
    8.3Kw
    $4.71/W

    System 2:
    6.87Kw
    $$4.50/W

FWIW, the lowest S.P. price I've seen on a contract or until funding ran out on the CSI program was $4.50/Watt for S.P. 327's and a S.P. string inverter. See CSI database # SD-CSI-17646. There are probably others since then that I'm not aware of, and I've seen a few contracts for S.P. equipment that were close, like $4.54 and $4.58/Watt, but that $4.50/Watt is the lowest price I've seen with backup evidence and supporting documentation.

I've also seen a lot of ~~ $3.30 to $3.70/Watt systems equally fit for purpose, just not S.P., that have about the same annual kw/yr. per installed kW.
