I don't have any credit to SEC ever since I start EV last June and only "few" days I actually have few kWh bank...... Projected 588kWh for this billing period after solar energy.... Hope I can make up the usage during Spring/Summer. I did received a small check from SCE after 12 months ture up, but I think this will be the first and last I would ever get.....

Here we are.... first month is in the record books.
Generation exceeds consumption most every sunny day.... and this is Wintertime!!
For those who are still sitting on the fence, please look into it more closely.

On the other hand, designing a system in which generation exceeds consumption in winter is kind of a waste with CA's current net metering system. Those extra kWh are worth a few pennies each... it will take a long time to pay for the panels that generated them.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment

Not when summer comes!!
No more $700 A/C bills..... ever!
Those credits generated now will sure come in handy.Comment

How much does SDGE pay for overproduced electricity? Tier 1 rates?LG280/SE6000/http://tinyurl.com/pav2bn8Comment

No. According to this page, it is just under $0.04 / kWh. The overproduced electricity is based on the each 12 month period, whenever your true-up occurs. Within those 12 mo, you can overproduce in one month and consume it in another.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment

My 12 month period goes from December to December.
Build credits in the Winter and Spring
Use them in the Summer and Fall
Settle up with SCE , either I own them , or they owe me.. Repeat.
I've used aprox 11,000 Kwh's every year for the last 3 years.
PV Watts says I should expect 11,000 kwh's from my system.
When I settle up with SCE, it should be close to a push.... I can always push any unused credits over into the upcoming year.
From SCE:
Standard NEM
When your small renewable energy system generates a surplus of energy, the surplus will be credited to your account at the same rate you would have been charged had you purchased the electricity from SCE. If after a 12 month billing period you have net surplus energy, you can apply your overall credit toward future energy charges, or receive a check for the amount due. Under this rate option, domestic accounts are billed once a year for “net” energy consumed or generated over the previous 12 months, if any.Comment

Yeah, on the page I linked, I hadn't noticed the monthly table before. Thanks for pointing that out.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment

Most of the time, PVWatt is slightly conservative. So if you budget 90% capacity, you will probably be close to even in the end. If you can somehow utilize TOU plans to your advantage, you can use more than you produce.16xLG300N1C+SE6000http://tiny.cc/ojmxyxComment
