That's why grid tied PV systems need smart meters.
For some POCOS (many POCOs? most POCOs?) the analog meters they deploy won't work for proper billing for grid tied.
BUT it is very dependent on the particular POCO and the particular meter that the POCO uses (and potentially also depends on what rate plan you choose).

Agreed, but I'd think that most/all POCOs require some different metering system than previously employed once NET metering is invoked, although I'm just as convinced exceptions can be found here & there.
