    Vacuum cleaners generally, uses a brushed, universal motor, not an induction motor like a pump uses. the comparison is invalid.

    I'll repeat, generally, most well pumps are overpowered for the needed application.

    Mine: Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph )
    Inverter reads it's a 1,000W load when running, I have 12,000w surge capacity.
    160' @ 8gpm, do you really need more than that ??

      Hi, I hope your not mad at me.As i've said, i have not installed mine.Thanks for the info,have to check my readings also to know which inverter to use.

        In addition to the generic 1Hp = 750w, there are efficiency losses, and Power Factor Losses, which add up quickly. thus, my 1/2 hp motor (375W theory) actually consumes 1,000w out of my inverter & battery.
