I believe this guy is either from the company trying to get free advertising or a paid shill.
Asking electricians and an electrical engineer is meaningless without knowing what they were asked - If you phrase the question correctly or don't know what your are asking about you can get many different replies. Verbal replies when repeated on the internet - just about like asking the wife's hairdresser about sub-atomic physics.
A unit should not be shown as being usable in an unsafe or non code compliant manner. The big picture of the plug in is exactly that.
I read on other sites that someone from the company was heading to China last fall to see the proposed microinverters.

Probably they are all scams. Or not real scams but over advertising their product. Probably sometime in the future US will certify some products to be plug-and-play compliant, but they will worth a lot. Certifications costs. Certification means less competivity, means higher prices.Comment
