The OP hasn't responded since the original post, so I don't know if the OP has moved on or is soaking in all the info provided. I agree, peace of mind means a lot to me too. Seeing others having issues with SolarEdge data/parameter access, I would try to negotiate SolarEdge installer access and maybe a spare optimizer as part of the installer discussion.
One thing we really don't know is how the contract is structured. In my installation, payments were broken out into four phases: 1) Initial signing (low dollar amount), 2) County permit granted (low dollar amount), 3) equipment ordered, 4) installation/county inspections complete. At each phase, a bill was submitted to me for me to approve before writing a check. Also, the equipment was dropped shipped to me which I had to sign for. At bill #3 and equipment drop shipped I would have known and verified equipment to be installed.
