    I'd suggest it allows movement of the outlet or the end of the vent to a place that's potentially "better" and probably more AHJ friendly, but consideration of the consequences of the move and the location of the end of the vent are things that need consideration but are often sometimes not thought about.

      When I built my house, we combined, in the attic, most of the vent stacks, but included clean out "Y's", because trick # 2 for plumbers, is to snake down the roof vent, instead of spilling black water all over the floor of the house.
