    I got an appraisal increase of 50% of the cost of the solar I recently installed. How would one go about challenging those valuations

    Real estate is market driven although hype, staging and market mania may have some influence. I leased an all electric townhome which has solar and the tenant told me that he was influenced by the solar. I don't know that I got an above market rent but it did rent out quickly.

    9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012

      A property is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Believe it or not, more than a few folks think PV and alternate energy suck. That means the pool of potential and available buyers is probably less. A lower number of potential buyers doesn't usually increase demand or the price of something.

        News claimed , that just 7 per cent of new build houses in German have photo voltaic installed .

        When one looks at electricitymap org , something seems not right ....

        Today at 17:00 o'clock summer time 43% solar of solar installed size of around
        45 to 50 GigaWatt nameplate : providing 27% of electricity of around 80 GWatt
        still at 5 past midday , but cold eastern winds here .

        Australia and North Amerca are worth to look at electricitymap org ,
        and "green" California vanishes against mid-European countries ;
        Poland might be a windy place , compared to NorthSea England ...

            The culture in the US is way different then most of Europe including Germany. As stated before, a solar pv system may actually reduce the value of a home in most buyers eyes.

              Southern Germany is at 15% solar pv on new build homes .

              But never the less , people would get even in the north , too ,
              with 800 kWh / kWpeak installed size annually .

              The south has 1000+ kWh / kWp annually , and because the current
              manufacturing heart is there , people there have more money ,
              are more confident about the future , and that way money
              goes where the money is .
