Deepsouth good luck to you. Trying to operate a GTI at the lower voltage range is going to give you some challenges. Typical input is 190 to 550 volts. When you are pushing the lower limits you give up a lot of efficiency and production time in morning and evenings when the panel voltages are below the threshold.

I do not know if you are aware of why you got the ESLR panels so inexpensively, but it is because the bond holders have moved in and taken control of the company liquidating everything to get some of their money back before bankruptcy when the courts decide who gets what ever is left to creditors. Once that happens they will be no more. So you might want to consider getting all the panels you need now and in the future, because come tomorrow they will likely no longer exist. Just a thought.

Yeah I was aware of their financial problems, but I'm much more comfortable buying these american made panels for $1.65 compared to the sunelect china/no warranty panels for $2. Either way I wouldn't receive a warranty. The state government has quite a bit invested in evergreen to watch them collapse. If I recall they gave them millions of dollars to get them going. On the other hand it probably doesn't help their cause that they announced a few months back that they were moving plants to china. I also told you wrong. They are actually $1.58 per watt. Better get back to work before I get fired.

Evergreen has shut down all US and Germany manufacturing and moved it to China. That is why they are so heavily laden with debt. It is the only hope they can survive. Their current production cost factoring in debt is $2.04 per watt. If they survive in China the production cost will be half that in a few years if they can stay in biz that long. So basically they gave you the panels for free.

Unfortunately that is the model for most US manufacturing, they will have to leave the USA to survive to escape labor, taxes, and environmental policy requirement expenses.

Ah. I didn't think they left the US yet? - Scratch this. I just checked and they started it looks like 1 or 2 months ago. I bet they are dumping the rest of their USA inventory so that they can streamline their China operations. My blemished panels weren't blemished at all and I have heard others say the same. Atleast grid power is American coal.

I paid $285 for Evergreen 205s.

Where has them for $285?

They are B panels. He will only sell them to me for $325 each now.

I did just bought a few of these for $250 plus freight though. I'm not crazy about the looks of a cracked sell, but oh well.
