Nice, it seems like average prices are coming down. No one has posted a $5 price in a few weeks.

If you end up delayed, the solaredge 7600 will be available at the end of the year. This is the first inverter to work with the powerwall.

Or maybe buy advertising on the sites, or pay a premium for leads, or...?

Such sites are not charity operations. They are businesses. Nothing wrong with as long as everyone knows how the game may be run.

A paid for yelp review in not advertising. Sunrun was offering their salespeople $150 for each five star yelp review they could generate.

Thanks for sharing the details. I'm in Bay Area and just starting the process - though the prices are not the same between NorCal and SoCal, still knowing some of the numbers help to get started.

I agree with you here J.P.M, I do worry about rumors that many yelp reviews are fake accounts made by advertisement companies.

I paid $28,400 (before 30% federal tax credit) for my SunPower 5.52kW system.

Price per Watt (before tax credit) = $28,400/5520 = $5.14/Watt
Price per Watt (after tax credit = $19,880/5520 = $3.60/Watt

The system is comprised of 16 X21 345 Watt panels and a SolarEdge SE5000A-US inverter + power optimizers. It's currently producing around 4.4kWatt AC at 10:16AM. I'm in Northern California.

That $5.14/Watt price seems about in the ballpark for what folks are paying for Sunpower equipped systems. S.P. is pricey stuff, sort of like a Mercedes.

$3.50/Watt for LG in So. CA, or about what the OP seems to be considering, is about the going rate. No. CA may be a bit pricier by maybe 5-10% or so depending on one's negotiating skills and application particulars.

Chances are most any array in the same location, orientation and service using known equipment installed by a knowledgeable and professional vendor will have approximately the same annual performance for as long as you're likely to own the equipment.

Referrals are nice for those referring. Down at the bottom line, the referral fee cost is paid by someone, either in hidden fees, adders caused by changes to projects that have their true cost inflated to cove referral costs, or corners that are cut in material or due diligence that no one will ever know about until a problem develops. Except for that crowd funding B.S., I don't believe the "There ain't no free lunch" rule has been revoked yet. Or, maybe I've got it all wrong and those things have a zero probability of occurring. I'd keep my mouth shut about referrals until after I was as sure as I could be that there will be no adders and had already signed the contract.
