I'm going with the LG panels for just under $3.65/watt. Signing the contract next Thursday and the engineer will be coming out the same day to take measurements and get a final build spec rolling.

I've gotten 2 or 3 quotes for a similar size system and all have been oddly close to each other. Below are 2 options from GeoPeak Solar in NJ. I'm leaning towards them since they always answer my questions within about an hour (via email), no pushy in home sales pitch, and good products. What is a good price to come to for the SunPower panels in the Northern NJ area?

LG300 ($3.85/W)

I can't believe so exepensive over there in 2015 !!!
Here in China we install with quiet good quality (JA Solar, Sungrow, abb BOS etc..) at about 1.6 USD all incluse turnkey system !!
You guys should update the price there!!

Yea - things do cost a lot more here than maybe they should and that sucks. But, you want nice - you pay nice.

Maybe I'm not paying attention, and not meant in a disparaging way, but I don't hear about too many people trying to get into China for a better shot at life.

My meaning was just refer to cost effective system. You can't pay so high price as you can't pay to cheap.

In some countries outside the US and Canada solar installations are much cheaper. It could be due to less costly hardware, lower markup for profit, etc. but it definitely has something to do with lower labor rates and probably less code requirements to meet.

Question though, why does my system seem to go flat like its hit a peak and can't go over it. I would expect the graph to be much smoother.
