I'd wager a guess and say that the vendor will sell more product to meet the state imposed 100 % production limit if their proposal puts panels at an off south orientation.
But to be fair, that south portion of the garage roof looks like it would have some afternoon shading problems that might lower production a fair amount and/or limit/restrict panel placement.Comment

I am in NJ also and I went to SeaBright Solar with Canadian Solar 260W all black panels. 7.8kW system with Solaredge inverter for $25k. It came out $3.2 per watt.Comment

How did you like them? I've had them out for a quote. Got a price of 4.33/watt on SunPower if I bring my own financingComment

At first, I wanted SunPower due to the limited space (16 panels) on the top roof. I think they quoted me $4.5/Watt. Then I went with the more bang for the buck route.

Here is a quote from Tinity Solar
Ends up being $2.96 which is the cheapest I've seen so far. But does add another variable of Trina260 vs LG300 vs SP327. The Trinity rep also agrees that the SP327s would be overkill and not worth the extra investment based on my house, position, and usage.Comment

The install came out great. The guys took time to get it right and I am picky about where to run the conduits. The install took about 5 days.

Nice, what panels did you go with?Comment

Sounds like the S.P. high $ for what you get price holds most everywhere in a relative sense. You can do about as well on annual output for a lot less $$.Comment

Yeah, unless I can negotiate a killer deal on the SP, than i will stick with something in the same realm of the LG300sComment

I've gotten 2 or 3 quotes for a similar size system and all have been oddly close to each other. Below are 2 options from GeoPeak Solar in NJ. I'm leaning towards them since they always answer my questions within about an hour (via email), no pushy in home sales pitch, and good products. What is a good price to come to for the SunPower panels in the Northern NJ area?
SunPower E21 ($4.60/W)
LG300 ($3.85/W)
