Keep holding. It'll be a while yet. I'd give it a couple of years after/if it hits the residential market and then take another sniff.

Fortunately, I have 20 years of net metering, and it looks like SDG&E will not be allowed "Demand Fees" for a while. I can wait. In 5, 10 or 20 years, I suspect Musk's (and his competitors) efforts will produce significant advancements in battery tech (with the help of billions of our tax dollars in tax credits, grants, loan guarantees, etc).

Even if those batteries were available today you better open your pocket book real wide because they will be expensive $xx,xxx. Almost like having a spare Tesla car battery in your basement.

They're announcing some battery system for homes they're going to sell.
