Any studies on non solar homes around solar homes?

I could see the argument that a solar install could negatively affect the surrounding homes, it all depends on the install.
Take this example which I snapped a picture of the other day, only because it stood out to me of how horrible it looked. I wouldn't want to live next to that.

I'm fine with either hip roofs or gables, aesthetically - it's that weird half-hip/gable thing going on above the garage and front window that's making me pull back in 'ew-face'.Comment

I think that there is actually an architectural style or period name given to that roof shape, but that does not make it any better looking.SunnyBoy 3000 US, 18 BP Solar 175B panels.Comment

Here's another gem of a solar install/layout I ran across today. If it was the back of the house it wouldn't be so bad, but the front?

OMG they devastated the beauty of the home, and destroyed all curbside appeal. I can hear living architects screaming and tearing out their hair looking at that, and feel the dead ones rolling in their graves.MSEE, PEComment

I'm not surprised if the front of house is facing South were East and West facing roofs were unavailable. That is the only choice.
But I am surprised...

I don't see the difference between looking out the window an seeing plain concrete roof tiles or solar panels...heck, I'd prefer solar panels, I think they are pretty neat and would love to see every roof filled with them. - HX-GuyComment

It may be functional but I have to agree I don't care for the looks of those panels.
There is also a good possibility that those palm trees may cause a lot of shading when the sun is in the West.Comment

If I lived in that neighborhood he would be in court answering civil lawsuit. I may no twin, but he would wish he had never done it paying thousands in lawyer fees defending himself. I would make sure he never gets an ROI. Then I would rally the rest of the neighbors to get in line and sue the SOB to bankruptcy court. Then buy his house on short sale, remove those ugly panels and sell it for a profit to reclaim my court cost and losses.MSEE, PEComment
