I've been torn between the high tech solar edge system that's battery ready now and the lower tech sunnyboy with the emergency daytime power but no real battery option in sight. I decided that since I don't have the money for awhile on batteries anyway I can at least get emergency daytime power.
If I was looking at bateries near term I'd be almost garenteed to go solar edge. But I'm in ca and net metering 1.0 helps push me that way.
Thats if I get in on time. Otherwise I screwed the pooch

I was in the same boat, I really wanted daytime power in grid down scenario. But that has happened like one time in my life as grid uptime in nonrural PGE territory is outstanding. It would be nice in apacolypse scenario lol, but I figure we'd have much bigger worries and if the huge solar flare hits I'd wager most electronic stuff will die or catch fire anyway. So I took the gamble on SolarEdge and its proprietory technology.
