Micro-inverters in Australia?

The APS Australia website is either poorly maintained or deliberately evasive. None of the links on testing which are prominently mentioned in text actually appear on the web pages. And the RETI site (which looks legitimate) does not have any mention of the APS Microinverters supposedly "currently under test." -
The only approval that is valid for any inverter to be connected to the grid is a AS4777 DONE BY A RECOGNIZED ORGANIZATION APPROVED TO DO SO THAT IS IN AUSTRALIA..
An AS4777 done in China, Istanbul or the North Pole is NOT VALID...Leave a comment:

APS Micro Inverters
Thanks, found and read up on them a little, but could not find any for Australia (despite searching).
I imagine it would be a nightmare to try to get approval and rebates for the first system of it's kind to be installed in Australia. I need one that is approved and professionally installed, I bet they exclude DIY installations of GT systems.Leave a comment:

I made a quick phone call to Energex the major power supplier in south east Qld and they said they have NO microinverter on their approved list of compliant inverters.
The only complience that is shown on the website is a certificate showing its approved by some organization in China.
Ithink Iwould be asking them to show the electrical authority approval for their city before buying them.
Also its not legal to install any inverter to the grid supply except by a licensed electrician.Leave a comment:

Hi...did you have a look at Enphase microinverters? they have address in New Zealand so maybe they also supply to Australia? I am speaking to them later so i can also ask...
Also you could check out one of the pv monitoring sites like pv-log, which is another solar community site for pv, if you register yourself on there then you can then browse installations using different inverter types, make solar friends or ask people directly (it has a solar friends feature)
good luck...Leave a comment:

The link you gave was to the Clean Energy Council..
The Clean Energy Council does not approve inverters - it is the electricity utility which is responsible for approving inverters used in its jurisdiction. Approved inverters should have a Certificate of Suitability number and a date of testing. The testing date should be less than 5 years old.
EXAMPLE I live in Queensland do you have approval certificate from either or both ENERGEX or ERGON ENERGY ??
APS Micro Inverter has passed all the necessary performance test and safty test, got approved by SAA and were listed in CEC. It is accredited in Australia and also
is qualified to sell the 1st one here.
We could continue our discussion and exchange information about the certificate through below my contact info. if you like.
Thanks John.
