It seems there's so much information out there - it's really hard to see what's true and which brands are true to their ratings.
I need some advise, PLEASE.
First, has anyone heard of S-Energy? The only thing when I search online is that they are about 1/2 - 3/4 the price of LG and other more popular brands.
They don't even have a US website and I can only imagine needing warranty replacement/repair.
Also, I have a contractor telling me that you get better performance out of lower watt panels because they take less sunlight to start working.
I looked all over, even called the Center for Sustainable Energy (California funded program) who said they haven't heard anything like that at all.
It seems the company is upset with me getting them to 4.20/kwh but you guys are bragging about getting higher rated, name brand panels for 3.50/kwh.
Can you guys just tell me I'm either getting ripped off or I'm not crazy?
I need a panel upgrade and separated that out of the cost. I did not factor in any other rebates/tax credits, etc.
Maybe my math is wrong?
They want:
28 S-Energy 260 panels
28 Enphase M-215 microinverters
for $31000.
Please let me know your thoughts and feel free to bombard my email with better vendors if you know of them.
I'm in East San Diego.
Thanks in advance
Edit:
Sorry, the site won't let me reply right now :/ I tried Chrome and IE...
Clarification: System Total: 7.280 kw (STS-DC)
I'm getting bids in writing this week. I'm over trusting anyone. I'm trying Baker, Solaire and a couple smaller independent companies as well.
I tried SolarCity but they did not want to install it on my roof saying the pitch is too steep :/
