I would find another 315 watt panel and go with 3s2p into a Midnite Classic 200. As to having the odd single panel on its own controller that wont do anything being that it is a 24 volt panel trying to charge a 48 volt bank/

Unfortunately even if you wire a number of those 12v panels in parallel they will still not generate the voltage needed to charge a 24v battery system. You need over 32vDC which you can get by wiring 2 of those 12v panels in series.

Just for your knowledge that while they are "labeled" 12v they actually produce closer to 18v where 2 in series will produce 35 to 36 volts.

Right, I suspected as much and Nathan confirmed. But two strings of two modules will work with the MidNite Solar CCs if I can put the 5th on a PWM controller. Do you agree?

No, The VMP is not high enough for a 48V system.
