This looks like a very simple, cheap and effective solar tracker for small systems. Scale-able too I would think.

Not sure why people try to over complicate things with tracking.OutBack FP1 w/ CS6P-250P http://bit.ly/1Sg5VNH -

The tracking mechanism is the easy part. Various methods have been around for a long time. The cost and design and maintenance considerations for a moveable support system are the more challenging parts.Comment

I was looking at the trackers from Home CSP and solar stalker. I have no idea about the reliability of these units? Seems like a few DIY people are using them.Comment

With that said, I have attempted to contact him a few times, over the years. To date, he has never responded to me. Maybe he doesn't like the way I type?

Not sure about the tracker itself, as I have never bought
one from him. But, the mounts (that he used to make?) seem to be pretty beefy:

if it is now actually operational?
Someone near here built a group of small tracking arrays. When I read he also
used batteries, I figured they were more for show than go. I should find them
and see how they are doing. Bruce Roe

I found this guy Craig Bradley on youtube built his own mount and is using the Home CSP tracker. I think his install is a couple of years old. I will try and contact him and see how it is holding up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqgu1F6NBHQ

I emailed Mr. Bradley and he was satisfied with the Home CSP tracker. His mount was good, but he would not use a pin in the bottom of the mount again. He would weld a cap on the bottom.Comment
