FWIW, the US does not allow cord and plug connected grid interactive inverters, period, regardless of their power output. They must be hard wired.

The one exception which is sometimes pointed out is one brand which uses a non-standard (cannot inadvertently plug other things into it) cord and plug combination unique to their GTI AND the receptacle has to be hard wired in by an electrician.
That has no force outside the US, but there are legitimate safety reasons behind it.

Standalone/off grid inverters are a different story, but if you do have grid power too be careful not to interconnect them in any way.

      Quick answer is no.
i dont see any reason why i cant set up this to comply with safety regulations.
You sort of had a lesson on that topic with your experience with the inverter.
when you buy a 2000w inverter off the net to hook up to your car battery for camping... do they tell you to get a qualified licensed electrical contractor to make it safe?
Nope. But if it shorts, it just blows its internal fuses, or its input leads, or absolute worst your car battery. If there's a fire it's just your tent - and you are right there to see it, so not much chance of it getting out of hand.

But if it's in your house? It could easily start a fire - and since you probably don't sleep next to your inverter, the first warning could be the flames licking at your door. It could blow your battery - and that is a much bigger deal with a 1320 amp hour deep cycle battery than with a starter battery. It could destroy appliances, which is a bigger deal than frying the portable TV you took camping.

At this point, you don't know enough to know what you don't know. This forum is a good place to learn, but if your attitude is "you're all full of crap, my system never caught on fire so it's perfectly safe" then you won't learn much, and you will be happier if you don't spend your time here being told things you don't want to hear.

Well, then, you certainly don't need any losers telling you what you already know!

No, not really. I'm pretty happy with my system, and the systems I've designed in the past.

Great! You made one improvement. Let's hope your ego does not get in the way of making more.

Sure. Once you stop mocking people who try to help you, I'd be happy to. Until then - your ego will continue to get in the way of your learning.
