Do you have any recommendations on how to make an installation of a solar panel with battery and a voltage converter for a 55w laptop? I need it to work 8h a day.

Yikes, That is all power needed from batteries, no sharing from direct solar contribution.
You will need to size a system to harvest and store 2x (twice) as much as you plan to consume. All the operating losses are going to add up in a bad way on you.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

It is not that bad, it is only 55watts, 8 hours is about 440 watt hours. if you only need power for this laptop, I will just get a 250 watts panel and a cheap charge controller and a cheap 12 volt inverter about 150 watt or 300 watts plus 1 12volt 200 amps deep cycle battery.Comment
