  • Confusion over Paralleling Flooded blocks

Two things I don't understand about how one should not parallel blocks.

I have read this thread: https://www.solarpaneltalk.com/forum...es-in-parallel

1- Why does periodic EQ not balance the lot when paralleled? I would have thought at those higher voltages they would balance and stay nice & balanced over their life. Is it simply a matter of too much time needed for each EQ?

2- I don't understand when they say parallel at cell level not block level, but then recommend a 6V rolls battery which is 3 cells or a block. So with using something like 2x 6V 800AH blocks in series, wouldn't this have the same problem? Compared to 4x 12V 200AH.

EDIT: ok ignore #2, for some reason I forgot it was a series setup.

The amount of time required to balance voltages, exceeds the available daily solar recharge hours.

In a telecom install, where there are 3 months to balance the cells, there is no problem.
