Numbers from it. It is most likely anSMA inverter. You can add a sunny island and batteries to create a 120V back up System. If you need 240v it will require 2 sunny islands. Your 12v inverter will not work with a 48v battery bank
Yes, it does say SMA on the side, made in Germany. So I can keep the inverter and would have to add others. Someone earlier here was pretty clear I couldn't use it and would have to replace it. I look up what a sunny island is.

    thanks,

Maybe so, but I was also led to believe the surge on my Fridge was higher than the only 800 watts it ended up being.... turns out the battery rep on the phone at some company was right all along when they said I may not even need a battery and could power my fridge and pellet stove from a 1,000w inverter.

So would the solar panels have to be all rewired to a different voltage as someone said earlier?

        Thanks

That is complete BS. A battery inverter requires a BATTERY.

No, I'm talking in regards to the inverter out of the car....it can power the fridge and pellet stove.

                  Most likely no.
Using the Volt as a power source from what I can see would be a very small 12V load. There is no inverter built into the car and you would be using the accessory battery only from what I can see.
Try contacting the contractor that put the system in for you and tell them what you want to do. You are probably still under warranty and any diy modifications would most likely void your Sunpower and installer warrranties.

Sorry but I have gone as far as I am willing to go with you and ran out of patience... You just lack any basic concepts of energy production and math skills which makes you ver dangerous to yourself and others around you. .

Thanks for all the help. Any advice on how to find someone who actually installs battery back-up systems in CT? Realgoods bought my previous two companies I used, solarworks and whomever bought them, I think alteris.

Yes, you get solar companies, nothing about battery installs but I'm sure when I ask them they'll lead me to someone that does them.

                          Thanks,
