Those straps will block sunlight during your torture test.

The torture test is just to make sure it does not go flying off my rig. I have another panel set up similar thats ground mounted that Ill be walking over and monitoring output on long term. As the Landcruiser isnt my daily driver Im in no hurry and more interested in getting it right.

You might consider something like 500 lb Vectran or 325 lb HMA instead of straps. (It's like rope but very, very thin.) Depending on your panel's layout, you could probably position it so it either blocks none or very little of the sun to a specific row of cells.

i am not familiar with those products. Ill look at their specs. I was planning on using 5mm dyneema cord as that is what I use for climbing and SAR work. Strong stuff. Rated at 13kN.
