    voltage dump

    I have built a two large solar panels that are producing 12 volts and 24 amps with that much power running into my battery bank do i need a voltage dump?

    No. Only wind or hydro, that needs to keep a load to prevent freewheeling and excessive RPM's need a dump load.

    Solar can be safely disconnected when the batteries are full. Usually a 3 stage charge controller (PWM or MPPT) will do this automatically for you.

    Trying to manually use a voltmeter and disconnect batteries when you think they are full, will give disappointing results.
