Minimum spacing for 3"x6" cells on the glass

I am curious how close you can safely locate solar cells on your panels, specifically 3"x6" and not risk any potential damage? I will be building at room temperature (about 75, no I don't have control of the temp )

The reason I need them as close as is reasonable is because the area I need for my target voltage is very near the nominal area taken by the cells so that may be a large holdup if I can't locate cells close enough.

The plant I work at tosses a lot of "expired" sealed clear RTV flowable sealant (as per gov req.), I will have to get the exact spec but I am thinking it may be usable, if nothing else for the edges and back of the cells. And it is clear but not sure if its clear enough.

    Thanx

Spacing depends on the voltage of your panels. if only 20VDC, you can space 1/8 inch apart. Higher voltatge = wider spacing.

As to the sealer, there are 2 types, Acetic Acid cure for home owner bathtub & kitchen use, smells like vineager.
For electrical use, they have a Acetone cure, and that does not damage electrial parts. The 1 part acid cure will damage your cells.
