Granted this thread's first post read like a lead in to unsolicited links, and Mike spoke to that as one might expect a mod to do. Benefit of the doubt to a newb and all that.
To Britishpete's point there are indeed a lot of unprovoked bashing on this forum based on assumptions.
This comes from regulars as well as those who have contributed a great deal to the forum, but certainly makes sorting the valid points out a lot harder from the playful jabs and the more personal attacks.

I'm happy I found the forum, happy to leech info and happy to share opinions where I think they may assist but acknowledge it seems to be getting "noisier".
Please consider your audience folks and the fact that your opinion is as valid as the next guys.
If someone's wrong, a solution or reason will convince them quicker then calling them a name, right?
