Tariffs on Chinese Solar Panels: This Time it is the EU

You can bet that the new Chinese leader Xi Jinping will not like this. The European Union decided to impose a tariff on Chinese solar panels. The duty, controversial within the EU, is set at 11.6 percent effective until August 6, when it will rise to 47.6 percent, according to a European Commission press release. Tensions are rising between the EU and China. The tariff was issued in response to evidence that Chinese companies are dumping solar panels, or selling them at unfairly low prices. The EU is not the first to impose tariffs to punish the alleged dumping of Chinese solar panels. The United States imposed its own solar panel tariffs back in the Fall of 2012. With the EU and U.S. tariffs in place, the next move will be China's. Any agreement reached would likely require China to abide more closely to international trade laws, and for the EU and the U.S. to lower the tariffs. The solar industry will watch closely during the summer months for talks to avoid an all-out trade war.

    Rethink

We all just need a big 'ole NAFTA that's more encompassing. Seriously though, China should be able to offer a loss leader?! j/k again!
How about if we allow there sale, at whatever price they choose but, a portion comes off the top of our debt by congruent comparison to US prices? Let's keep our playing field in our own back yards, take care of ourselves, & leave our neighbors alone. Is it too late to do that?
Creative financing & win/win, for the foreseeable future, just thinking.
Seems rational to my rattled though?
    Rip me a new one.

      Tariffs on Chinese solar equipment

Interesting stuff above, but i'm hoping for up-to-the-minute information on what we can expect in duty and tariffs on the nearly $10,000usd order for the solar power equipment deal we are about to consumate and pay for.
We are building an off-grid 6kw (actually dual 3kw solar power systems) serving two detached households from a remote ground mounted 24 250wat solar panel array rack.
Hopefully there are folks here who are knowledgable about how to find out about, or calculate just what the tariffs or duty assessed are going to amount to.
      Thank you for your assistance.
      Aloha a hui hou, tg
