A nice diagram of entire world-solar pannels

Hi all

I'm new in this forum and I'm not sure if I've asked in right partition or not .

Could any body give me a helping hand on
tow diagrams which show in one of them how much area of entire earth should be covered by solar panels with 8% efficiency to meet our
moment demand for electric energy and the other diagram which has reduced area in width because of higher efficiency solar panels.

Actually I could find diagram for 8% panels but I couldn't find 2nd one.

Welcome to the forum. That sounds a lot like a homework assignment.

I do not know of any source for such a graphic, but if you look up the areas of different countries, you can use that to subtact out the difference in area between, for example, 8% panels and 16% panels. Or you could just cut the area in half.

Actually I'm sure that somewhere I've seen such a nice diagram for higher efficiency solar panels which has reduced in disk area .
But I can't find it anymore.

Sorry I didn't get your point.

This is not an exercise .
I just need a qualitative picture which may have done before as a calculation or just schematic diagram by which
you can show for bunch of students how increasing in efficiency of solar panels could reduce the area which we need
to cover with panels.
That's all.

But my point was like Russ's its an exercise in futility and thee is no way you could get a definitive answer. As many areas would have panels of varying ages and efficiencies ..

O.K I got your point.
But my discussion was just something very qualitative for a presentation not mathematical calculations or precise diagram .
I think I can make it on my own with some fancy animations which shows for efficiency increment we can decrease the area in which we should install solar panels to provide our current demand .
