Just looking for other defunct SunPower (SP) users who are not happy with the SunStrong (SS) monitoring app and whether they have looked at
the SunFlower (SF) app as an alternative.
I currently am subscribed to both to see the differences between the 2 and what data each supplies.
My SS gripes - the font used in the app is not written for use on an IOS device.
For people with vision challenges it is very difficult to read the screen.
Another gripe is that after an app update you lose the next days data and when you email SS
you receive a form letter telling you to go out and power reset your PVS6. This also happens on the anniversary day
of your subscription. Unacceptable.
The panel display requires the use of a magnifying glass.
SS only updates once an hour.
I have other gripes, but I'll hold off on them for now.
In contrast since I have been using the SF app I have never lost a days data.
The font on their app makes it very easy to read the data results.
The data received from SF is pretty much the same as what you get from SS.
Their panel display is very clear - no magnifying glass needed.
SF updates every 30 minutes.
There is some info that SF doesn't provide right now but my work-around is
to use the data from SS in a spreadsheet to calculate fields like
Daily %, Yearly %, Lifetime %, Yearly Home Consumption %, Lifetime Home Consumption
using the SF data.
So far the resulting percentages calculated from SF are extremely close to those in SS.
