what type of temperature sensor is this?

I installed an <brand name removed, but it wasn't Renogy> inverter and solar setup in our RV last week that came with three of these sensors to monitor the batteries. Per their instructions, I do not need to use them since we have lithium. Anyways, can I use these with a D1 mini and what type of temperature sensor is this? Thanks!

That looks like plain cable, not thermocouple cable. Being able to read more of the lettering may improve our guesses. So the sensor could be either a thermister or a diode ( diodes have a very stable thermal response )
The sensor is the metallic sheath that is mostly chopped out of the picture !!

Although Li batteries do have a very strict temperature requirement that they never be charged when the battery is below freezing. The sensor should be built into the battery and the BMS monitors it. Fancier ones have a heater in the battery so it can continue to be used.

with "renogy" changed to something I won't mention, and cross-posted to a bunch of other forums too.
