Need help clarifying NEM invoicing

So my understanding of the NEM invoicing is that each month they calculate the price of what I used, and the price of what I sent, and at the end of the period (true up) they will calculate the balance of these over the whole period. If I owe something then this is what I must pay, if I have a credit, it is wiped out.

In parallel, if I have exported more kWh than I used they compute a credit based on a low rate.

My question is as follow.
My NEM period started in November, so during the winter months, the price of what I used was higher than the price of what I sent, and their invoice reflected that, and I had to pay that difference.

Now during the summer month The price of what I used is lower than the price of what I send, so I am generating a credit. BUT I have already paid for the month it was the other way.

At True Up time, If the total price of what I used is lower than the total price of what I paid, My balance should be zero, but I will have already paid something during the winter month.
Will they then refund me what I (over)paid during the winter month given my balance should be zero?

I'm not familiar with this type of NEM agreement. I only pay once per year at the true up. Who is your power provider?

DO you mean your gaz and electric invoice does not include any charges for electricity every month

Below is a snip from my true-up bill. I only pay once per year for electricity. My monthly SDG&E bill shows a charge, but no payment required.

My point was that I have two separate statements.

I have my detailed monthly NEM statement that shows the global balance.
But I also get my monthly PG&E gas and electric bill. On that bill during the winter month, It showed I owed something so I paid the bills.

After the Summer month, what I paid in the winter should be wiped by the credits, and I was wondering if they will refund me at true up, or if I should not have paid the winter bills...

You probably should not have paid. I recommend looking closely at your previous bills. This is what my monthly bill looks like (not the true-up month).

Well, my PG&E bill does not have such mention, and does mention the amount is due...
May be I will give them a call to clarify and make sure my actual monthly bill is aware of my NEM agreement...
