Another electrician friend of mine pointed out a change in the 2020 NEC that I was not aware of. Article 690.31(D) now has an exception that appears to allow PVC conduit for the DC conductors between the roof penetration and the Rapid Shutdown device (inverter in a SE system). What is your interpretation of this new rule?
"Exception: PV hazard control systems installed in accordance with 690.12(B)(2)(1) shall be permitted to be provided with or listed use with nonmetallic enclosure(s), nonmetallic raceway(s), and cables other than Type MC metal-clad cable(s), at the point of penetration of the surface of the building to the PV hazard control actuator."
