    Monitor SolarEdge without internet????

Does anyone know if it's possible to monitor a SolarEdge system on a PC without access to the internet? I just completed an install for my uncle who doesn't have internet and has no plans to get it. However, it would be nice to be able to connect to a laptop (wired Ethernet) to see the performance log. Can it be done feasibly?

    Thanks,
    Greg

Not easily. You need to use local DNS to map the SolarEdge server's host name to your local PC, and write / find some code to parse the messages. Or you can use a low cost cellular plan and transmitter to get the data to the Solaredge server, if cell coverage is available. Or you can use the RS-485 connection and write / find code to communicate using the Sunspec or Modbus protocol.

Otherwise, he'll have to talk a walk out to the inverter every now and then to see what it is doing, or install a 3rd party monitoring system that is more friendly to local access.
