    4th of July Fireworks

    Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if I should have any concern about falling fireworks landing on my rooftop solar panels? If something goes up on fire, if it happened to land on a panel if it could cause damage.

I live in a 28 house development and a lot of my neighbors shoot off fireworks. Last year I blew quite a bit off my roof, nothing big, mostly just small chunks of paper/cardboard, etc.

    Thanks!

The glass of the panel is uppermost, and is not likely to burn very well. Debris is often very lightweight and unlikely to crack the glass. There is more danger of the falling embers setting grass on fire or the roof itself, the PV panels will actually protect the roof.

I would be more concerned with the idiots that like to shoot their guns off pointing them up. All of those bullets come back down and have hit people in my area. I would think that solar panels will get some of that debris as well.
