Have you considered switching to clothes that don't need to be ironed? Also, I've found that running freshly washed clothes in the dryer for 5-10 minutes then hanging them on hangers while they are still warm and damp to finish drying, helps minimize the wrinkles of drying them all the way in the dryer.

Wife iron is killing me. When she irons, it eats 1800 watts of power that makes my house a.c. put my net meter into purchase mode. No iron no problem! I cannot find an energy efficient steam iron on the net. Best case 1400 watts. Time shifting is obvious, her time preference is daylight. Now 93 degrees during the day and 6.6 KW system is handling a.c., variable speed pool pump 368 watts,1750 rpm, all electrical house hold drain works perfectly from 9-545pm daily, sunny day a must. Anybody found or uses a better iron than 1400 watts? Thanks!
