Grid-Tied or Off grid Solar System

Hello, I am living in Perth, Western Australia, I want to set up the new solar panel system to my house. I heard about the different type of solar systems, but I have no knowledge about solar systems. I want to get advise, What type of solar system is more beneficial for me? Grid-Tied solar system or Off grid Solar System? Which one will help me for save traditional utility charges?

Even in Australia where electricity is 2 to 3X as expensive, and off grid battery system is a money loser. If grid is available, a grid tie system is your best option. Off grid battery systems only make partial sense where grid is unavailable, and even then second place to a generator you will need for battery maintenence anyway.
