Rob is the owner of Solacity and has a RE blog www.greenpowertalk.com that covers solar as well as wind but is heavy to the wind side. He is quite knowledgeable with excellent experience.

Rob likes wind but hates to see people buy into schemes that often don't work due to salesmen and installers that either don't know what they are talking about or in some cases just plain lying.

For anyone considering small wind this should be required reading.

That was a great article Russ, thanks for pointing it out to us. I bookmarked it for further reference. Wow, it is really rare to find such honest opinions on the web. The author Rob, needs to be congratulated for writing it and presenting it to the world in such a detailed and simple manner. His data, pictures and analysis makes the truth about small wind turbines very clear even to a complete newbie like me to the field of wind energy. I hope people research a lot before they sink in their hard earned money into scams that installing small wind turbines have become.

Rob received an 'atta boy' from Paul Gipe for the article.

Paul Gipe is one of the guys who really knows and understand wind turbines - one of the best known people in the field.

Both Rob and Paul are RE proponents - they like the field and support it 100%.

They both also hate to see people get screwed out of their hard earned bucks by shysters.
