    What is your favorite schematic drawing software?

    I am graduate student in electrical engineering. I am currently looking for jobs in the solar industry and have come across one that wants to hire me if I can produce a 3 line diagram for a solar system as a test.

    I have made 3 line diagrams before for solar systems but I only used illustrator. They said that they prefer CAD and I have been trying to get used to AutoCAD Electrical in order to meet their requirements. However, I have been searching for a different software to draw 3 line diagrams and have yet to find one that is any better than illustrator or AutoCAD Electrical.

    Does anyone here have a favorite software for drawing photovolatic system schematics?

    Personally I have been using CorelDraw, probably not an industry standard in electrics. Great for schematics and wiring diagrams. Designed emergency systems for the London Underground with it. you can also export in other formats like EPS and DXF.

      professionally I use P-cad (yes it's old, but it's netlist output works well with SMARTWORK PCB layout)

          I'm also a bit old school, I still use Microsoft Visio, but would love to use something else.
