Has anybody here used Canadian Solar panels and, if so, were the provided connectors the usual type, i.e. MC4 compatible? The spec sheets for all their panels list something called Friends PV2, which I have never heard of and am just trying to confirm that they use the typical connector type. Please help! Any reviews or specific experiences with Canadian Solar panels would also be appreciated.

Version 5.2 of the data sheet (July 2015) shows MC4/MC4 comparable as the connector. Current version 5.3 (August 2015) calls out the PV2a connector.
They do appear to be physically compatible, but electrically, the Friends connector is UL listed for 16 A on 12 AWG, while all of Multi-Contact's true MC4 connectors are listed for at least 30 A.
Since the panel requires a 15 A series fuse if combining more than two in parallel, this difference between the connectors should not come into play. The more explicit connector specification probably matters for the very few systems requiring full UL compliance, which disallows mating different brands of connectors.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment
