"Ten years from today the probability that you are depending on wires hanging on tree branches is as likely as that you'll still be installing land lines for telephones. Close to zero."
.1 per KW - Natural Gas Powered... $10,000 for a 10kw system, Waste product? Pure water!
WOW!

From the same outfit that brought us the Ivanpah power towers that need a whole lot of CH4 more than expected. Wait until it's been in production for 3+ years. Looks like more hype.
How can you make such a backward statement like that?

My logic goes something like this:
Per your ref. article: Dean Kamen: CEO of NRG
From NRG fact sheet: NRG is lead investor in the Ivanpah solar generating station per public information, and also per the signs on the property I saw last spring.

Dean would Never be a CEO of anything, he is a 'serial inventor' When he came out with the segway, he was not even CEO of THAT company
I am not trying to start a flame war with you, just would like you to back up your facts with 'Facts'
Ivanpah plant is a huge waste of tax payers money. The plant falls 50% short of projected power output after a year of operation is having to use Natural Gas to fudge the numbers. It is a complete failure. Google and NRG are robbing the public blind with corporate Welfare. Us tax payers paid $1.6 billion of the $2.2 billion this turd cost the public.

You are correct. To be clear and correct my error: Your ref. article mentioned Crane as singing the praises of Kamen's invention. Given that he (Crane ) is the CEO of what may be a mess (Ivanmpah), I'd hardly call Crane's endorsement a "sterling" one.

I read your previous comment as correct, with ":" indicating a connection or flow of information. Crane is doing more than just endorsing:
With commercialization partner NRG Energy, he’s so far deployed roughly 20 of the machines.
NRG appears to be deeply involved in this project, later in the article it talks about their plans to network and coordinate the production between the devices. Some skepticism seems healthy, to me.
