I am putting a new roof on my garage. I live near seattle, wa. Is it a big problem to put the panels on my deatached garage, (40 ft from house) and is there an Ideal roof slope for a solar array.? thanks very much?:

Not a big problem putting the panels on the garage roof IF you have a big enough AC sub-panel in the garage already.
Trying to run new lines (either AC or DC) across the 40 foot gap may or may not be a problem depending on what is in between.
The ideal roof slope for year round production is facing close to south and with an angle from horizontal which is a little less than your latitude.
You can run different slopes in PVWatts for your location to refine that.
If the actual roof slope is 20 or 30 degrees off from that, it is not enough of a deal to justify angled mounting for the panels.SunnyBoy 3000 US, 18 BP Solar 175B panels.
