How hard is to have items ship from other countries.

Depends on what it is where from where to and method of shipping

Sea freight to the US is normally cheap - at least by the full container.

I had some household items shipped from India to Turkey a few years back - the freight cost was fine but the cost for the forwarder in the Turkish end was very, very high. That lot was nothing but bandits but by then I was stuck with them.

Like Naptown says - it is very shipment specific.

The missing link that requires most attention is to convince shippers and forwarders presently using road transport to abandon their sole reliance on road and rail transport and give more serious consideration to alternative modes such as Short Sea Shipping as a backbone for integrated door-to-door transport.

That is 3 lbs of BS in a 2 lb bag!

That may or may not be true - where I live the freight forwarders are little better than thieves.

In the US it is easy - all depends on location.

Here in the Philippines freight forwarders are property relocation businesses.. They will for a fee relocate most of your property to their friends and relatives.
