You probably won't find many reviews or info about this company.

The domain laviesolar.com was registered 6 months ago. It a chinese manufacturing company that's using the lavie solar company to sell the panels through.

on the very bottom of the front page of their website, there are lots of misc. links to sites like coach purse outlet, swiss replica watches, etc. All the websites were all registered about the time. Just thought that's odd.

looks like they have lots of good feedback on ebay though and it has a warranty, so if they are in business a few years from now to honor that warranty, it may be a decent deal..who knows

Sounds like they have the domain "parked" and are trying to make extra money on click-thrus.

Thanks to both of you for the information and observations. I won the auction of four of their 100 watt panels... After their arrival last week, on a December sunny day, at 2:00 pm, they averaged between 85 to 95 watts when I measured them.

I contacted them about the low readings on their polycrystalline panels. Along with some minor shipping dents on the end of one pair, they agreed to refund some of the costs if I kept them... taking a gamble, I agreed. The total cost for the four 100 watt panels, including shipping and Texas tax, was only $490.00

What would you have done?

I'll keep the forum updated when I retest them under noon sun this spring.

Just basics.

I were planning on using it with an MPPT charge controller to charge an 75ah Deep cycle battery, power some lights and an inverter.

About 15W of lights, running 3 hours every evening, Charging my cellphone and running the inverter somtimes..

Is it enough with the 50W panel, or would it be better to go for the 80W?

And finally, is there eny cheaper high quality brands?

Because panels generally only put out 80% of their spec, I'd say the 80W panel. And we all know that loads eventually grow.
