Best type of CFL bulb for house?

CFL bulbs are the most energy efficient right?

I'm looking for the most efficient, yet gives off a good amount of light. They are for my house.

Any suggestions on a good bulb to get? Thank you!

LED's are the most efficient. Also the most expensive (right now)

There are many different "colors" of CFL, warm white, cool white, daylight, .... The IKEA furniture stores have a pretty good selection of CFLs, standard base and candelabra base too!

The "heavy" (rare) ones have a transformer in them for the ballast, the new lightweight have an electronic ballast.

THE BULBS NEED AIR. The ballast in the base gets hot, and in a base UP orientation, they have a short life. In enclosed fixtures, they get hot and have a short life. Chose wisely.
