The only way to make these work efficiently is to make use of the heat generated for heating the building. If placed outdoors the efficiency is way down. the flip side is that if it is placed in a hot climate indoors it would be competing with air conditioning making the efficiency worse.
Google if I remember bought a bunch of these.

Pretty old news from 3 or 4 years ago. When you look at the numbers i snot too good. They are not as efficient as a standard electrical generating plant using the same natural gas fuel and a poor investment for the business or home owner. Pretty much means they are wasting NG that would be better used for something else. From operational cost th eway to look at it today it cost roughly 4-cents of NG to make a Kwh of electricity using standard boilers to make steam and turn a turbine. Using the Bloom Box is roughly twice that at 8 to 10-cents.Leave a comment:

A pure sucker play and far from the most efficient of it's type.
The Boom box is backed by some big money boys who keep hyping it so they can make their big bucks. This was a big topic a year or two back.
The only claim to fame it has is one can tap into the federal tax credits with it.

It is not renewable..... but it is more efficient than burning the gas.
