Looks like SE is working hard with Tesla to get some traction on the energy storage system. Unfortunately the cost for even a retro fit of the Interface and Powerwall is still beyond what most people will find any ROI.

Answer is yes, sort of. Solaredge has announced they will offer a retrofit to existing customers apparently there will be some differences.

In their article they talk about 2 MW ENERGY storage. Do you suppose they mean 2,000 kilowatt HOURS?
Or maybe they mean an instantaneous flow of 2,000,000 watts of POWER?

Like in this forum people seem to mix up KW and kWh a lot. Whomever wrote that article either made the same mistake or those units are rated 2MW but failed to provide a mWh discharge value.

I have also seen some reporting mix up the DC and AC rating of a large array. You would think they could get that right.

I just read an article about Duke Energy installing a second 2MW battery system at one of their coal fired generating plants in Ohio. And they already have a 36MW storage system in Texas near a wind farm.

In their article they talk about 2 MW ENERGY storage. Do you suppose they mean 2,000 kilowatt HOURS?
Or maybe they mean an instantaneous flow of 2,000,000 watts of POWER?

I just read an article about Duke Energy installing a second 2MW battery system at one of their coal fired generating plants in Ohio. And they already have a 36MW storage system in Texas near a wind farm.

It looks like the battery chemistry being used Li-ion based because of the fast response needed for grid stability.

Their cover letter seems somewhat gung-ho. Quote:
