    temperature sensor gone bad

    Hi,

I have a close loop solar hw system. The loop pump is controlled by a thermomax
USDT 2004 differential controller. recently the panel temperature sensor is giving me
abnormally high temp readings ausing the pump to run even when the pipes seem cool.
i am planning on going up to check the sensor covering to see if it has any cracks in it.
If the sensor is bad, can anyone tell me what type of sensor to look for and where I
    can get it? Thanks!

Also turn on the pump take a temp reading on the pipe from the collector and check the ohms of the sensor with an ohm meter. If there is a big difference it could be the sensor or it could be an air pocket or leak stagnating the system. Better yet check it again at night allowing the system to cool down again.

If it don't work after checking it, You can ask your supplier to help you.Or you can search sensor about PT1000. Maybe it is ok.
